The Apocryphon
The Mysteries of the Worm

“From the flesh of the Worm,
writ in the ink of the Maleficent,
by the hand of the Tainted,
so are the Whispers writ.

“Through eon past and ages to come,
by the hand of the Devoted,
so shall the damned be incarnate
and the will of the corrupt enacted.

“With bone and bite to bare,
in the field of strife and tryst,
men shall seek to subvert
the Weaver’s divine right.

“And by Ruined warrant called
they shall fill their ousia with malice,
and bring from Beyond’s bosom
the seeds of the end.”

“In the deserts and on the seas
in the land of the great Weoruld,
shall forces of opposition call upon blade
and slash and strife shall be the way of it.

“With the great weave-work pulled
and the power of the Imperial taunt,
the ruined lords shall be seen,
and the seeds of descent wrought.

“Without conflict or choice,
great men of chivalry and honor shall ascend
and with the foundation bare,
the battles shall begin.

“On the banks of the serene,
blood shall spill to jade the current.
Beasts of beyond shall creep,
and the conspirators shall call upon scribe.

“So shall begin the great cabal,
and from its hands the architects will depict.
With the depiction drew upon,
the evocation shall be bore.

“True means shall become their ends,
and with shield braced upon backs,
the Fiends shall descend upon them,
and ne’er a place shall not know of it.

“Those of familiar fate shall shine,
and from the black depths the Chosen,
borne of ne’er peace nor fief,
shall create a great undoing.

“Cetenarians of old will ebb and fade,
and the great tides of time will lose their course.
With war on every shore,
all shall feel the might of the discourse.

“Nothing shall be as it was,
and ne’er will it ever be.
The flow shall come to cease,
and the ripples will cease their glow.

“When all is sundered beneath it,
none shall be of it,
for the flame will muster and might;
yet, ne’er will it be of the great light.

“With the great Cabal founded
and the great Court come to bare,
all shall see and know of it,
for it is the end of all things.”

”With centennial years of conflict passing,
with lands on either shore seized and broke,
the heretic-disciples will be forced to exile,
locked outside of the world known.

“Eons pass and time shifts,
great secrets will be lost to both men and age.
Lands distant and seas unknown,
these shall be their final bastion.

“Until time becomes but a memory,
and the great drive of men come to bare,
the distant lands shall once more be found,
and the cults of age and old beseeched.

“Men of glory and reputation will know their sway.
Beneath a single banner they will conform,
and the disciples of the Slumbering shall be found;
their blades will know strife once more.

“Untouched wealth and resource,
faith devout and unwavering,
in the darkness of the new lands,
the Worm's true strength shall be found.

“And so surely will it come to pass,
that even though span is great and the search stout,
they will amass beneath the horizon,
unbeknownst to the glorified kings.

“In the deceived lands they shall be blind to all,
as beneath the starry sky wolves-of-men call.
And with a final blow to the heart of the world,
they will find them wanton.”

“And the first amongst the Fiends
shall descend to that low place.
Amongst the bones of men and beast,
so too shall the evocation be whispered.

“The Voices of Beyond shall echo,
and the Halls shall tremble in their merciless wake.
Amongst the sages, blindness will be seen,
and from shore to shore, ignorance shall be known.

“Upon its own choice,
so shall it too reach.
The End shall come in beautiful bliss
amongst the cackle of carrion crows.

“And forever shall it be tainted,
that low place of benign malevolence,
sundered in the darkness,
and consumed by the glow of the Nothing.

“Wrought of bone and iron shall it be,
and sickened by gore and disease.
Purged from the vastness of Creation,
wandering amidst the Labyrinth of Da'ath.

“But from the wastes of the Ends
shall rise forth that unholy spectre,
given speed and flight by hatred and envy,
and power by forces of the Voice.

“It shall be a malevolent sage;
but for the Chosen, much more does it speak.
Of times to be and of yet to pass,
so shall it seed the dissent of Ruin.

“And to the Weoruld ripped,
dry of rain and wave,
the ashes of the firmament shall crumble,
and the bliss of agony maintained.”

Since Garith Nors, the research into the defiled effects of the supposed “Maleficium Cascade” has proven... impressive. As witnessed in the shallow vales betwixt the dunes of the Nexxussian Desert, such effects are quite catastrophic in the accordance of the abundant presence of Maleficium. Repeated expeditions and information gathered regarding the descended battlefield have shown that the effect hinted within the Whispers is, in fact, a very plausible – dare I say likely – outcome of the dense manipulation of the essence. To that end, I have conducted further research on the matter, and believe I have produced a series of bridgeheads to cause a controlled “Maleficium Cascade.”

To that end, I must examine the effects of these “Cascades” and determine their utilitarian nature in accord with both conflict and ritual. To that end, as seen in Garith Nors – though not under controlled conditions – the abundant presence of Maleficium into a certain density in any given region will, in effect, stretch, warp, and eventually tear the Weave. This can be seen through the perversion of the Divine Laws and the Physical Axiom's surrounding Garith Nors. This is to say that, in accordance with the perversion of the Divine Laws, ousiac corruption of life that comes into contacted with the “ruined” region has proven most... exponential.

Physical lifeforms – both fair and animal – have shown to be prevalent. Buzzards, arachnids, and various lesser beings that have come into contact with the warped Weave have proven to grow in immensity and girth, as well as display heightened aggression and the unique ability to transmit the Maleficium corruption – albeit in a muddled manner – through bites, scratches, stings, and, in some cases, even mere contact. However, it appears that much of the Maleficium has all but dissipated. The corruption that remains seems to spread from the inverted flow of the Weave that has become ousiacally corrupted by the “Cascade.” That is to say that, though no visible Maleficium remains, due to the inherent blasphemy the region dwells within, the corruptive force of it remains.

As for the inversion of the Physical Axioms, the laws of Hypraxis seem to be warped or non-existent. Levitation and gravitational defiance are commonplace. Many shields, scabbards, and even debris from the destroyed Ivory Tower still remain, suspended aloft by the perverted forces – some weapons even still fluttering about the air as if they were just released. This seems to also lead to, much as the perversions of the Divine stir, a catalyzing effect on the life there. As the “ruined” beings are placed into a new environment, their corruption has forced spontaneous mutations in order to permit them to better suit their environment. As a note, further research needs to be made toward this end in the likelihood that a controlled evolution may be possible.

Continuing, the mechanism for engineering a “Cascade” seems almost rudimentary straight-forward. In affect, in order to instigate such an effect, in essence, the presence of Maleficium must far out-weigh the presence of the Weave divisible by the density of the presence of the taint as to form a 1:1 ratio. To that end, once the divisible ratio of Maleficium approaches one (1), a sustained “Cascade” will occur until such a time in which the density recedes from one (1) and returns to zero (0) and lower integers. Such as follows:

Read as: With the presence of Maleficium, catastrophe occurs (») in accordance
to a divisible ratio of the presence of the Weave to the density of Maleficium. Once a ratio of 1:1
is reached, the event yields (→) a sustainable Cascade.

This is, of course, the most basic of “Cascades” that can be engineered. In effect, this is the rudimentary postulate that had to occur in order for the “descent” of Garith Nors as witnessed. With the application of further reagents – such as that of the chaotic forces of Da'ath – further compounding of the effects could be seen.

For example, as witnessed, once an equal ratio is reached, the Weave shall yield to the Maleficium, forcing the metaphysical descent of the effected region. That is to say, with the proper density of reactive Maleficium, the Weave is stretched to the point of shearing. At this point, the apex of the Maleficium “descends,” pulling the immediate region of effects with it. This was witnessed through the metaphysical scarring that occurred at Garith Nors, as well as the physical collapse of the plateau over thirty-three fathoms. With the usage of the force of Da'ath, this may be compounded.

To the end of furthering this research, during the Burning of the Wood, I contrived a concentrated sphere of Maleficium, bound within a psychosomatic lattice-work. Upon detonation, the sphere was designed to instantaneously propagate a 1:1 ratio, forcing a violent “Cascade.” As witnessed by those on the Isle of Nemoros, the effect occurred as planned. The destructive effects propagated out from a central origin until such a point in which the metaphysical density of Maleficium decreased from an equitable ratio. But this experiment only garnered further questions.

With the completion of the Ritual and the liberation from the Prison, the forces of Da'ath are now at my disposal. With the spontaneous evolution and chrysalis stage passed, the forces known as “Chaos” (or “Khaos”) and the “Void” (or “Abyss”) are now present to be meddled with and experiment upon. To that end, it is my belief that, with further research, it may be possible to construct at least three “principal” “Cascade devices” similar to the spherical construct created within Stillwood.

With that in mind, this “Ternion” is initially to be constructed of a central core of Maleficium, encapsulated by an Abyssal mantle, which is further consumed by a layer of Chaos.

In effect, this construct forms a “self-propagating weapon.” That is to say, due to the innate properties of the three forces at work, the detonation of the construct propagates itself continually so long as the forces are being fed. To this end, the Chaotic shell is powered through the collective hatred and desire for destruction inherent within the Egregore; the abysmal forces of the Void are, in retrospect, powered from the innate fear the remainder of the heretics and forces outside of the Accords have of our forced genocide and success. As such, with the initial detonation of the device (through the detonation of the Chaos), this activates the secondary reagent (“Void”), forcing a combined wave of Da'ath outward in an omnidirectional trajectory. As it expands, t he desire for strife and decimation feeds the Chaos intrinsically through the Egregore, and as the awaiting victims watch as the waves of conflagration expand, the Void is fed through their fear and “implodes” this excess force inward toward the core until such a point in which the central core becomes “principally dense.” That is to say that, fed on hatred and terror, the corruptive ousia of the Maleficium reaches a critical point, forcing an ever-expanding “Cascade,” perpetually fed by the expanding waves of despair.

Currently, the “Ternion” is only in experimental phases. Current research indicate that, through the use of three similar contructs, it would be within the boundaries of theoretical cosmology to forcibly “sunder” Hypraxis once more, leading to the “Descent.” However, as an aside, current projections and theories state that, if this “Descent” were to occur, all forms of life within Hypraxis would lose their individuality and be forcibly “compressed” back to a singular, synergistic “point” of mutual Existence and Nothingness. Therefore, in order to retain consciousness during and post-Descent, the ultimate goal of “Apotheosis” must be obtained.

It is my firm belief that, in fact, the usage of this sort of weapon to forcibly “Ruin” Hypraxis is innately tied to the “Apotheosis” itself, but further research must be taken...

In the writing of the Ieidoss Age scholar Aerodotus on the contextual “Apostate Blasphemies,” he lists twelve acts that, when undertaken, forever smother the Divine Light of Creation within the soul of a Highborne, forbidding that being from entering the Gate and passing on to the Garden. The transgression of these sanctions permanently defile the transgressor, condemning to an eternity of Nothingness, as their soul is unable to pass on to Paradise. They are written to address various issues of offense – including the Weave and the very nature of the Emyprean.

They are as follows:

Thou shalt not defy the sanctity of the Empyrean from the embrace of the Soul. To deny entrance of the Empyrean to the Soul removes one from the grace of the Weaver, forever darkening their Light of Creation. To commit such an act is a transgression against the Empyrean, the Weaver, and the Divine Light of Creation.

"Thou shalt not maim or smother the Being of a Man for the sake of such. Death is a path all must take, but to send a Man to the Beyond before his time forever condemns the Soul. To commit such an act is a transgression against the Weaver and the Weave.

Thou shalt not seek to, attempt such, or commit an act that disturbs the Framework of Existence. To commit such seeks to bring direct harm to the Weaver, and forever forbids the soul from peace. To commit such an act is a transgression against the Weaver and the Weave.

Thou shalt not seek to harbor Ruin in one's Being, for to do such an act smothers the Divine Light of Creation. Such a heinous crime shall forever replace the Beauty of the Fair. To commit such an act is a transgression against Hypraxis and Divine Light of Creation.

Thou shalt not seek the Mysteries of All before one's rightful time. Ascendance and enlightenment is the reward for eternal blessing and faith. To commit such an act is a transgression against Hypraxis, the Weave, and the Divine Light of Creation.

Thou shalt not seek to bore or create Ruin within the Seat of the Fair. Such an act is of heinous sacrilege, and shall forever bring Ruin upon the Vessel and the Tincture. To commit such an act is a transgression against Hypraxis, the Weave, the Weaver, and the Divine Light of Creation.

Thou shalt not seek the blessing of Other Incarnations, for the Weaver is sublime and fertile, present above the Faiths of the Fair. Through His sublime omnipotence, worship and faith is garnered. To commit such an act is a transgression against the Weaver and the Divine Light of Creation.

Thou shalt not seek to disturb the Keys, for they harken ill omens to ready the Fair for their times. To attempt an interference with those Touched by the Fates brings ill-respect on all the accused, and forever supplants one's self beyond His Grace. To commit such an act is a transgression against Hypraxis and the Empyrean.

Thou shalt not seek to perpetuate any act that's goal is the disturbance of Hypraxis or its Guardian. To commit such an act is a transgression against Hypraxis and the Weaver.

Thou shalt not seek to trespass on the Foot of the Egg, for divinity is held within the Hearts of the Divine alone. To commit such an act is a transgression against Hypraxis, the Weaver, and Existence.

Thou shalt not hold in one's heart sadism for the Divine Light of Creation. The Divine Light is a gift upon the Highborne, and to seek it ill births abandonment. To commit such an act is a transgression against the Divine Light of Creation.

“Lastly, thou shalt not seek the Ruin of Creation nor Hypraxis, for existence is a divine extension of the Egg. It is the Great Gift to the Fair, for nothing more sublime than Creation exists within the All and Everything. To exist is to be divine. To commit such an act is a transgression against Creation, and brings upon it Ruin alone.”

Such trivial things...
